The numbers of police brutality victims in the United States of America are truly shocking. Almost three thousands of civilians were killed by police in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 the tendency remains the same as already more than six hundred people have been murdered this year.
Violence should be neither tolerated nor forgotten. The names of police brutality victims should not fade away from people’s memory. Just like any other horrible crime against humanity, acts of police brutality should be remembered and condemned.
That’s why here in New York we step forward with the initiative to establish remembrance benches in every location where civilians were murdered by police officers. The benches named after police brutality victims will serve as a symbol of people’s grieve and honor to those who have lost their lives due to one of the most significant and frightening outbreaks of police violence in the United States of America.
Sign this petition if you support the idea of establishing benches in remembrance of police brutality victims in New York.
